The ethical dilemma
Most ethical dilemmas involve a conflict between the needs of the individual and a community or the organization as a whole. For example, in primary schools should implement the review of the carrying backpacks to avoid cigarettes, which would benefit the entire organization as a whole, but reduce individual freedom of students?Or some products that do not meet quality standards in Mexico, must be exported to other countries where government standards are lower, which would benefit the company but is a potential harm to the citizens of the world?
How should such decisions be taken? The reality is that there is some global ethical perspective. There are several basic approaches considered, which have been around a long time, the challenge of making ethical decisions is not modern. Having to choose two options-delivery-ethical dilemmas compete, since both have some validity and have confronted human beings throughout history.
The basic approaches are analyzed from two important perspectives. First, to help understand the way others approach the ethical dilemma and second, the lack of a clear focus on ethical decision making often generates a slip, or decisions that are contrary to the individual's beliefs and policies the company.
It is important to note that the workforce is becoming more diverse, and that the organizational environment is increasingly global. Therefore, it is very likely that within the company you will encounter individuals that use quite different approaches to yours and come to different conclusions about ethical behavior, because the cultures and moral principles are different in each of the nations.
